Multistory Theatre - The Adventures of Perseus
Two quarrelsome professors bring to life one of the most exciting of the myths from Ancient Greece: the story of a woman with snaky-hair, a sea-slime monster and a boy determined to protect his mother.
The professors use projection, puppetry, lightning-quick character changes and some pretty impressive physical action to tell their tale. And even manage to agree on a suitably happy ending!
Sam O’Shanty has lived his whole life at sea, ever since he first stowed away when he were just knee-high to a kipper! Since then he’s sailed the Seven Seas: from Devonport to Durban Bay. From Nantucket to New Guinea. From Cape Wrath to the Cape of Good Hope. But now Sam has come ashore and with his two shipmates he’s got all manner of marvellous stories to tell. Shiver yer timbers to the curious tale of a batty witch and her enchanted wee cap! Or hear the tangled yarn of the Lucky Mermaid and the man who went to sea in a bucket!
And witness the roisterous dramatisation of Blackbeard and his piratical comeuppance! Sam O’Shanty is a nautically comic show for all the family, crammed with fact, farce and fantasy. A performance in which storytelling, puppetry and the singing of shanties will entertain, enthral and delight…Huzzar. The performance lis suitably fun for family audiences with children over the age of four years.
